I have set up the latest blog post to a catorgory and set the link to a menu item so the links do not open under the home page layout. But this is having no effect.

These routing behaviour settings will be removed in Easyblog 5.0.18 is because all the module will look for the Easyblog main SEO settings from backend > Easyblog > settings > SEO .
