I am suspecting that, this could be due to the server being too slow to the copy files. As there are quite a number of files to be copied from the installation folder to your Joomla site. This is often the cause of errors when you hit the file copying error.

By the way, It would be best if you can provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can better have a look.

Hmm, this is probably due to the server being too slow to the copy files . I hit this error (refer this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/ipuNmvW8C) while updating your EasySocial. Can you provide us with FTP login credential, so we can assist/help you on update EasySocial 1.4.8?

I have the same problem and PHP passtrough is disabled.
