Hi Guys,

Regarding this komento's comment synchronisation with EasySocial stream, it seems like there are some mis-understanding how on this feature work.

First of all, the synchronisation will only be happened if there is a new komento's comment stream created in EasySocial. To make this happen, you will need to enable this two options:

1. 'Generate Activity Stream For New Comments'
2. 'Synchronize Stream Comments'

http://take.ms/KLXvg

Imagine you created new Joomla article, there will be a stream item created in EasySocial as well. However, commenting on this 'new article' stream in EasySocial will not sync the comment into article page. If you then submit a komento comment in article page, it will create another 'new comment' stream in EasySocial. Now, if you comment in this 'new comment' stream item in EasySocial, the sync will be happened and a new comment will be added into comment (in article page) as a reply. Please see http://take.ms/qPqhk

In short, the synchronisation is only on the 'new comment' streams in EasySocial. Please see http://take.ms/yQ3Q3

Hope the above clarify the confusion on this feature.

Hi Sam,

you can not be serious about this. I imagine you have a meeting to plan and someone brings up this idea and you all were like what? - Excited? I do not understand this. It is a total mess and absolutely useless. What happens to comments made to the stream item of the article? Are they lost? In former versions for EasyBlog these comments went to the article page using EasyBlog comments but comments at the article page were lost. Now using an extra component like Komento they do no longer do this?

We had these problems with EasyDiscuss two years ago when ED stream item comments sync to the ED thread but not the other way round. As a result we had separate discussions at different places. You have not made this properly yet but worked on Komento and we have the same problem again? What is the point of having all components in one place if they can not communicate with each other properly?

Hi Sabih,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding the above, unfortunately this is how currently the comment from komento sync with EasySocial's stream's comment. As for comments on 'new article' stream, currently there is no sync is going on. In order to sync these comments, we will need to add the sync process into Article apps. Right now, the only app that having this sync process is on Komento App and this app only render 'new comment' stream. Hence, currently we are only able to sync the comments from 'new comment' stream item.

I will log this into our issue tracker as feature request and we will see what we can do regarding the comment sync in 'new article' stream item.

Thanks again for your patient and your understanding.

Have a nice day

Hi Sam,

I really have understanding but I was just so disappointed after waiting for 2 years to finally get more synchronization I read about synchronization just to find out it does not work as intended yet.

I will try to find another way.

Have a nice day too Sam.

Hello!
I enabled "Generate Activity Stream For New Comments" in Kommento settings. It must "If enabled, Kommento will post an activity stream to EasySocial on new comments".
But when I added new comment for the article - i'ts not showing in activity stream
What I did wrong?
I want to see last comments in my activity stream, I don't want to add an additional Kommento module "Last comments"

Hi Alexander,

May i know whether you have installed this app https://stackideas.com/apps/item/9-comments on your EasySocial? if yes it should shown as it should be. If not, it would be best if you can create a new thread as it is required for your provide us with your Backend and FTP access for us further check on this issues. Please advice.
