Hi guys.
I am looking forward to buy Komento in order to integrate it with core Joomla Articles.

Currently we are using a setup based on a forum integration where for each article posted the system generated a forum topic for comments / discussion.
Comments "pages" (hence "forum topics" for comments) are indexed as separate forum pages by search engines.

We are thinking about switching to Komento to a more integrated solution and we have concerns regarding SEO and performance

Questions

1. How Komento performns with search engines: comments crawling, comments search engines indexing ... and so on. As i see comments are retrieved by Ajax, is this search engine friendly ?
2. How Komento performance is affected with huge comments number for a particular article ? Is performance comparable to a forum topic with huge number of posts ?

Thanks in advance !
Hi,

1. Komento is coded according to the standard outlined by Google in terms of content markup (http://schema.org/) and Ajax crawling pages (https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/).

2. To be honest with you, we did have issue with large database of comments in version 1.0, but we've hugely optimized it in version 1.5 and we've tested Komento on one of our customers site where each article have more than 5000 comments, and Komento has been working really well with that.

You can give Komento Free version for a try (since you are using it with core Joomla Articles, and this plugin is available in the free version), and if you like it, you can support our project and development by purchasing the Pro version that comes with added features and sleek themes.

I purchased the Pro version to deeply check it. Hopefully we will use into our final product.

Last question: Is Komento optimized at some point where the entire database will contain huge number of comments, on huge number of articles ?

I am asking this because we are comparing Komento with a forum platform that performs great with huge number of topcs and posts . So we are debating into implementing Kommento or mantain forum posts as comments for articles.

We are aiming for a long term, robust and viable commenting solution integrated into Joomla ! So far Komento looks great, has the features we seek ... it's just a matter of performance and scalability .
