Greetings,
I installed Komento on this Joomla 3.2 site: http://www.darkfantasy.us

I have searched the Komento configuration and am not able to find out how to:

  • limit comments to one particular blog -http://darkfantasy.us/dark-fantasy-blog.html
  • remove all komento links and icons from category blog pages, and limit them to full articles
  • remove HITS altogether
  • revert to the READMORE that comes default with this Joomla51 template
Hello Hope Kiah,

Sorry for late reply to this,
You can configure the above requirement option from your backend > Komento > Integration > Joomla Article
I have help you disabled the HITS and use back the Joomla Read more button, see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/VJQdLBvHpO7 (setting)

Can you elaborate your question with more details about this 2 requirement, and include a screen shot of what you are referring to remove it?
>>limit comments to one particular blog -http://darkfantasy.us/dark-fantasy-blog.html
>>remove all komento links and icons from category blog pages, and limit them to full articles

Please advise.

Thank you, Arlex! You have fixed all my issues listed above. i appreciate your help.

One more thing. I have attached a screenshot of the way the comment form looks on an article. Can this be formatted so that it is just a link that says something like ADD A COMMENT before opening up that big form?

Hello Hope Kiah,

I have help you enabled this option from your backend > Komento > Integration > Joomla Article > layout > comment form tab > Form Toggle Button
>> http://screencast.com/t/fPNvlVFn

Also, It looks like your account isn't tied up with any subscriptions on our site. Is there any mistake on our end? Would it be possible for you to contact us at https://crm.stackideas.com and provide us with the order reference and your username so that we can fix this up for you?

This is awesome support. You're right, I don't have a current subscription. I am impressed at your service, and given that I'm deciding on whether to get the $25 or $99 option. I see that support lasts for one year.

My main concern with commenting components is the security aspect. I've had hackers get in through other comment components on other joomla sites.
Questions:
•have you had trouble with hackers getting in through Komento?
•Will i need to subscribe every year to be eligible for updates?
•Will the need for updates for Komento (and your other components) show up in the UPDATES component in Joomla?
thanks,
Hope

Hi,

1. We have a pretty good track record that our software is safe. We even patch 0-day exploits on the day itself as well if it was reported.

2. Yes but the free version will be available at no cost with limited features

3. Nop but in the main page of our component's backend, there will be a notice if there is a new update.

Thank you for your help, jason. I know I'm being particular about this. It's because I used another company's commenting component and someone got into the back end of a joomla 2.5 site and started sending out huge amounts of spam. My client's email ability was canceled by bluehost until we got this worked out.

1. We even patch 0-day exploits on the day itself as well if it was reported.

• Are you saying that if we have a hacking problem and report it to you, during a paid subscription year only, we could get a patch?
• If we haven't renewed, do we still get the patch?
• If damage was done during the hack, what is done about that? I'm good about backups for my clients so most likely we would revert and then apply the patch?

2. Yes but the free version will be available at no cost with limited features

So, do I have this right: if I want to keep the software updated and protected, I will need to pay for a new subscription every year or revert to a more basic version which might eliminate some features I'm using? I'm thinking I'll let my clients pay for the component on individual basis and renew as needed.

thanks for helping me with this.
