I'm sorry but seems like the error is came from Joomla Mail. Komento using Joomla Mail to send the notifications. Based on the error, your SMTP setting somewhere is wrong.

The other extensions (easysocial, discuss, etc.) are sending mail without any issue, only komento had this problem !
the message is about jmail smtp connexion its clear but only for komento !?

can you check again please, i think there is a problem some where as other extensions are working !
we are using CMandrill comoponent from Coompjoom to end mails, we'd applied an update in pervious days but not sure if before or after discovering the problem.

(use please the same logins as here : http://stackideas.com/forums/i-m-getting-a-parsererror-when-trying-to-join-a-group-1)

Please disable any 3rd party extensions that processes emails first and see how this goes.

Sorry for the delay of this reply. I don't mean to be rude here but if you would have included your access in this post, you might get a reply much sooner. We deal with over 100 posts each day, I don't think we can really remember which post has access and which post doesn't. Let alone, you post your access in replies on another thread and not the main question. So we need to read through the entire post to find your access.

Anyways, this is the error when Komento's cron is executed,

JMail::Send failed: "Impossible de connecter par SMTP".

This error is being returned by Joomla and not Komento as Komento just utilizes the API from Joomla to send email. You need to check your Mandrill app logs.

After spending almost an hour debugging this issue, this issue is caused by your Mandrill system plugin. After disabling the plugin, the error is gone now.
