Hi

I have enabled the required settings as per the instructions https://stackideas.com/docs/komento/administrators/integrations/k2 and have have allowed all acategories in the Komento integrations tab.

I still have no comment box.

This is th root of my KB using K2: http://www.svchost.co.uk/kb/articles
This is an article: http://www.svchost.co.uk/kb/articles/104-adobe-illustrator/628-remove-black-box

Please can you help

Joomla 3.8.4
K2 v2.8.0
Komento v3.0.10
After a bit of investigation I have fixed it and have the following to report

The cause for my comments not to work were because in my Category there is a setting called Comments and this was set to Hide. I changed this to Show and then the Komento form showed.

Because the comment plugin worked used a K2 joomla event the Komento form would only be shown if this event was triggered and this is controlled with K2 for its own comments etc.. hence the confusion

So these are valid points

  • Content - Komento Plugin : should be renamed integration plugin as the name is confusing
  • have enable disable buttons in the content plugin - this would of help me identify the issue.
  • add a better description into the content plugin
  • The extra step of checking the Comments are enabled for the category (and check the inherited category if using) should be added to the K2 instructions (linked above) in your wiki
  • add also to the k2 komento instructions that the K2 comment form is replaced by the komento form on the fly and that all K2 commenting settings (make a note) can be ignored.
  • Information about this plugin should be added to the integration instructions in your wiki as this might be a lot easier for some integrations rather than hacking code in 3rd party software. (I know because i have done it). someone might like to write a plugin rather than use KT:: etc.. The integration instrucitons mention nothing about using joomla events which can be quite useful.
  • The K2 instructions in your wiki should explain what part the content plugin is doing, ie this added the comenting code via joomla events. This would help in diagnosing errors.

If any of these need to be added a seperate items in the fourm please let me know and I will do that.

Your help was invaluable to getting this fixed.

Hi there,

I've tested using Komento in K2 locally seems works fine.
Seems like there is error generate by K2 component: http://take.ms/W67Fk that might cause the komento do not displays in your site.
Can you consult to K2 developer regarding this, we will further checking when the issue resolved.

Keep us update

  • I have search the K2 code for KT:: and komento and cannot find any reference to them in the K2 v2.8.0 codebase

I will post on the developers site

You forgot to answer the questions above?

Also have you actually made a k2 article and then made a comment on your test site with komento?

Also that error you see I am not convinced that is what is causing the error.

We are also try to find the root issue of this issue just now, seems like there is something not wrong with the K2 category setting where (I give one example from the Adobe Ilustrator category) the comment setting was enable
Refer this screenshot for a better understanding: http://take.ms/cTj2c
So basically K2 was not get the inherit setting from the category correctly
Hope you can give them some info on this

Thanks for points this out, it is really helpful. We will discuss about the points here with our PIC of documentation

Thanks for the feedback. I also added some more notes into the list above while you were typing. There are notes for the K2 integration and some for your general integration docs.

I hope these help and if you will sort those notes as required I can close this ticket.
