Hello Friends, and sorry for this long title

Imagine that my site is available in FRENCH and ENGLISH. I would like that my homepage display Joomla Articles. Each article is writted in english, then, I duplicate it for write it in french too.

Now, imagine that a user speack french, and read an article "nouveautés de yann anderson" (news from yann anderson if I translate for you in english). Now, imagine this user post a comment "bonjour yann" (hello yann). So, this comment "bonjour yann" will be ONLY AVAILABLE in the french version of the article.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO: if another user speack english, and he read the same article "news from yann anderson" , but writted in english, I would like this english user can see the french comment "bonjour yann" posted by the french user..........

Possible to do that ? Or no ?
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Unfortunately that is not possible to do this, because that is two different article id e.g. one is English article and another one is French article.

Because when someone comment into that article page, it will store the article id into database regarding this comment, so when the system render the comment on the article is actually base on the article id.

What i can think of is, you can use Falang extension, so you only create 1 English article from your Joomla.

Then you have to use this Falang extension to translate this English content to French.

When the user switch to French language on frontend, this article content will automatically switch to French content as well.

But you can try consult with Falang support and see whether this can be achieve.

Hi Arlex,

Thank you very much for tell me how does it work, now, I understand better ! I really appreciate it !

I will follow your idea and install / try the Falang extension. I will check if this extension allow to have only one article ID but available in 2 languages, your idea is very good !

Enjoy your week-end !

Best Regards from Switzerland,
