I actually think this problem may be with the push notifications. But, It did start happening after updating my Komento as well as EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss software so I am not sure what introduced it. basically the push notifications for comments are displaying a string that should be being replaced with an actual comment.

See the attached file to read the string that is not being replaced.

Sean
Hi Sean,

It seems that we cant replicate this on our end currently It would be best if you can provide us with steps on how to replicate this, once you have know how to replicate this, it would be best if you can inform us.

Please advice.

I have subscribed to the blogs on our site. The makes the push notifications come directly to my computer. When those push notifications come to my PC they display the strings that you use. It is hard to give you a screenshot because the push notifications don't stay for a long time. Sorry, the only way to replicate this would be for somebody there to sign up and subscribe to the blogs and then I guess you could make a test comment to see the comment get pushed through the push notifications.

I see you just created a test blog with a test comment. I saw it immediately because of the push notifications. I am attaching a picture of the comment notification so you can see the problem. Thank you so much for looking at this:

I generally login to front end as scarney and so that is what I believe will be setting the parameters for the push notifications.

When I am managing the backend I login a drcadmin

Thanks for asking.

hey Sean,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

If I recall correctly you do have installed Komento app into your site before right? Because after troubleshoot long hour ago, then i realised your site do not have install Komento app in Easysocial which causing this notification string not translated properly issue.

I already help you installed Komento app from your site, it should translated correct string now.

Can you give it a check?

Hello Arlex,

I do not remember installing or uninstalling the Komento app in Easysocial. I do know that this problem happened right after the last upgrades to a few of your components. But, I am not able to tell you which one might have been responsible. I wonder if the push notifications worked in previous versions iwthout the Komento app in EasySocial?

It was certainly working before. Regardless, I am very grateful to have this figured out. And, I will keep my eye on it. I have not yet seen a notification for a comment so am not sure it is fixed for sure although I suspect it is.

Yes, actually that was difficult to trace back where went wrong in previously, but as long as installed Komento app then it should be fine.

Keep us update if the issue still persists.

Thank you. I will let you know if I see any comments that come in wrong. I appreciate the help. It would be nice to know that we understood the cause. But, at least the problem is fixed which of course is the main thing. :-)

I actually think that the Komento comments are now no longer coming in through the web push notifications system. I have done a couple test comments on our test blogs and received no notification at all.

Do you think it is not pushing the notifications because it is published into the category 'unpublished'. ??
