Hi folks,

I just updated to the latest version of PayPlans, Easysocial, Komento and Joomla. Having a small problem with Komento: past comments are visible but users cannot post new ones. Any ideas?

Thanks,

James
p.s. It's possible to reply to comments but the main button to post a new doesn't appear.

Thanks,

James

Hey there,

I can't replicate it as you mentioned on my local site.

May I know where did you use your Komento on which components on your site?

When I was trying to access your backend http://theukuleleway.com/new2/administrator/index.php and it keeps redirecting me to [gist type="php"]
https://www.theukuleleway.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=555
[/gist].

Also, when I was trying to access your FTP's access that you provided, it gave me the following error:

Status: Resolving address of c15299.sgvps.net
Status: Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known".
Error: Could not connect to server

Sorry, that was the URL for the staging site. The site is now live at http://www.theukuleleway.com. Admin: theukuleleway.com/administrator. Here's an example of a page with Komento integration: https://www.theukuleleway.com/lessons-full-c6/book-5-c6/lesson-1-the-chromatic-scale-c6r (must be logged in to view).

Thanks,

James

I see now the site info tab was out of date. I have updated it; please try again.

Thanks!

Hey there,

The reason that this happens is because your table yx5z_komento_comments is missing a column which is 'preview'.

I had helped you to add it back by using the following MYSQL command and it should be working fine now:

ALTER TABLE `yx5z_komento_comments` ADD COLUMN `preview` LONGTEXT DEFAULT '' AFTER `comment`;

Can you have a try and see how it goes?

Thank you for your help. But the issue is still there: no button or dialog box to add a new comment (but old comments show). Please see attached screenshot for an example.

Thanks again.

Hey there,

For your information, the Komento add new comment form is at the bottom as shown in the screenshot.

Wow, that's embarassing! I was so used to seeing it above the comments I missed it! Is there a way to move the new comment box to be above the comments like it was previously?

Thank you,

James

Hey there,

There is no setting to do that currently but you can download the attached default.php file and place it at template override location which is at JoomlaFolder/templates/YourCurrentTemplate/html/com_komento/structure/default.php.

Take note that you need to create the folders manually if you don't see them.

Can you have a try and see how it goes?

I tried the new default.php file (had to create a couple of new folders). However, it made the pages inaccessible; they wouldn't load. These pages are controlled by ACL. Can you think of why that might be happening? I really appreciate your help with this and I will try again to see if it was a caching issue.

Thanks,

James

Hey there,

I noticed that you didn't paste the attached default.php file into the template override path. I had helped you to paste into it already.

Can you have a try and see how it goes?
