Hello the wonderful stackideas team!

I have an issue from the new update of Komento and K2.

The komento counter is not working, when you go on the K2 category it says "be the first to comment" and before it was written per exemple: "there is 4 comments"

see pb here

go down and see K2 article - "be the first to comment"= soyez le premier a commenter!, click on the article and you will see there is comments...

thank you for your kind help
Hello Julien,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hello Julien,

Yes, you can put site access and ftp access in the Site Information below. Only our support team can view this information.

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Hi,

This is most likely template issue.

K2 actually triggers an event called "onK2CommentsCounter" for 3rd party plugin to provide the number of the comments.

Other customers actually have this issue with YooTheme's template where their template is not following K2's standard in retrieving the the comments counter by conventional K2 method.

You can test this by reverting to the default Joomla's template to see if it works properly on it.

Also, I will need an FTP access to further confirm this. As we will be messing with Joomla's trigger system to check, it is dangerous to use a backend file explorer component as any mistake could lead to backend page not accessible.

Hello Jason i have tested with default joomla template on my local website (which is a copy of my live website) and the error is still the same...

I do not think it is an issue with yootheme template
I want to point the fact that before there were no issue and i have not updated the yootheme template for a while (there is no update)

I have provided you my ftp access, please be extra vigilent to not brake backend, frontend, my website please...

Thank you very much

Hi,

Ah on second investigation (after updating K2 to the latest to test), it seems like K2 changed their trigger a little bit on the listing page.

I've applied a patch on your site to overcome this issue through FTP but I need to access your site's backend (to clear cache) in order to confirm if the fix works but I can't seem to access your site's backend with the provided credentials. (1st protection works, but the Joomla testing admin user does not work).
