I'm planning to shift from jomsocial site in 2.5 to a site with easysocial+easyblog+easydiscuss+Kommento with 3.3, as all these components would be in one site, i'm concerned about the site load times & hosting requirments.

So i wanted to know about the total js size & total Css size.
And whether the JS & CSS for all 4 components are common or every component would have its separate set of css and js.

Second question is of using cloudfront (For CSS,JS & Images), is there any integration or we have to use jomcdn.

Third question is of load this would generate on the server (I'm planning for go geek account on siteground) and i'm expecting 50-100 concurrant users at 10% of the time, with daily page hits of about 10-15K.

With jomsocial i've had a few warnings from siteground regarding cpu usage and php script executions
So what kind of CPU usage & account executions would be required for all 4 stackideas comps in one site.
Hello Sunny,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. To be honest with you, we have never really calculated the sizes in general but our extensions should work fine with compressors. I have never really used jomCDN but I am assuming that the plugin actually alters / modifies the domain names to link to your cdn site domain.

As for the load, to be really honest with you, running a social network is not always cheap and it's simply because the system would use some resources especially when there's a lot of users online simultaneously. It really depends on how your setup is. We have customers running on a site with 5,000, 50,000 or some even 200,000 users on the site and it seems to be working fine for them.

If you are expecting high simultaneous users at a single point of time, I personally would advise you to get a vps

Thanks Mark for your reply, it has answered few of them, as a follow up i have a few more questions,

1) I assume that all your extensions are using Jquery & Bootstrap, so is it possible to offload these scripts to google cdn? ( & Only the custom parts can be loaded through local?) Like it happens with a few other comps e.g jreviews

2) Do any of your extensions require mootools? (Now that joomla can work without mootools)

3) Whether the core JS & CSS for all 4 components are common or every component would have its separate set of css and js.

4) Whether the {kommento} plugin architecture has been implemented? ( So that comments can be shown in tabs to reduce the scroll)

5) On your demo site, easysocial-1.2.10.static.min.js (Size: 258.6 KB compressed) is loaded on Kommento & easydiscuss also but not on easyblog demo pages. so is inclusion of this js necessary on pages with Kommento & Easy Discuss or can it be excluded?

6) If your support team will help me migrating from current jomsocial on J2.5 to easysocial on J3.3?

regards
Sunny

Hello Sunny,

Please find the responses to your inquiries below:

1) I assume that all your extensions are using Jquery & Bootstrap, so is it possible to offload these scripts to google cdn? ( & Only the custom parts can be loaded through local?) Like it happens with a few other comps e.g jreviews

Yes, you can offload this to a cdn of course but since you are using JomCDN, it would automatically change the hosts for these domains.

2) Do any of your extensions require mootools? (Now that joomla can work without mootools)

Nope, we are not a fan of mootools and we never used them

3) Whether the core JS & CSS for all 4 components are common or every component would have its separate set of css and js.

It's not common and they are actually different for each extension

4) Whether the {kommento} plugin architecture has been implemented? ( So that comments can be shown in tabs to reduce the scroll)

Hm, you can actually play around with our demo

5) On your demo site, easysocial-1.2.10.static.min.js (Size: 258.6 KB compressed) is loaded on Kommento & easydiscuss also but not on easyblog demo pages. so is inclusion of this js necessary on pages with Kommento & Easy Discuss or can it be excluded?

It's because the modules are actually rendered and that is why those js files are needed on the page.

6) If your support team will help me migrating from current jomsocial on J2.5 to easysocial on J3.3?

Yes, we could migrate it over for you The migration process is really simple actually and it only requires a click of a button and get some popcorn while waiting for it
