MijoShop is an excellent product and I have it installed with all the Stackideas products as part of a community driven website around EasySocial.

I know JReviews is a great product too and was about to get it when I thought I would check if it was complementary to MijoShop or a duplication as both handle product reviews.

I believe there may be a slight overlap in product reviews but JReviews offers more and the integration with EasySocial is obviously a major plus, all advice/opinions welcome.
Hello Richard,

Hm, isn't mijoshop a bridge to another shopping cart or something similar?

Hi Mark,

Yes, it is a shopping cart and ecommerce component for Joomla (light years ahead of the other ecommerce options imho).

The full features are here http://mijosoft.com/joomla-extensions/mijoshop-joomla-shopping-cart but it is this section that has an overlap with JReviews:

Catalog Management
Front-end Management
Catalog Mode
Unlimited & Nested Categories
Unlimited Products
Unlimited Manufacturers
Product can be assigned to multiple categories
Product Reviews
Product Ratings
Product Options
Product Attributes
Product Attribute Groups
Product Tags
Product Returns
Downloadable (Digital) Products
Related Products
Compare Products
Product Filters
Unlimited images possible for each product
Automatic Image Resize
Products & Options Stock
Donation System
Android application to manage the store (3rd party, free)
Desktop application to manage the store (3rd party, commercial)
Integration with 50+ business apps through OneSaas (CRM, QuickBooks, SalesForce, Zoho etc.)

Products can be reviewed in the store, not requiring JReviews, or possibly with JReviews using an internal link to the store. There is no overlap in reviewing items that are not going to be placed in the Store and JReviews integrates with EasySocial but MijoShop does not at the moment (but will very soon).

I am only concerned if there is complete duplication and MijoShop can do everything JReviews does, but there is no issue if it is only a partial duplication with products listed in the store that can also be reviewed using JReviews but many other items not listed in the store that are also reviewed using JR.

I believe it is a partial duplication but wondered if anyone could confirm if this is the case.

Thanks for the heads up on this Richard, will try to get in touch with the Mijosoft guys. Perhaps we could consider creating an app that displays a list of products on their profile etc.

Hi Mark,

I just noticed the preview for Joomlart's January template, featuring EasyBlog and MijoShop on their new version of T3 Framework 2.0.1 for Bootstrap 3.

It is at an early stage so could be a good time to ask Joomlart to include EasySocial (and possibly EasyDiscuss) in the template as well, because of their integration with the new updates.

There is no K2 (fortunately) or Kunena (I believe) in the template, so there would be a natural fit for ES/ED with EB already in the design.

The preview can be found at JA Bookshop January Preview

Hello Richard,

We have already requested both Joomlart and Joomlashine to work on a new template because they would be able to target more customers from it However, it's best that you guys as a future prospect or existing customer to make this request too. Your voice is louder than us

Not a problem Mark, I have been posting requests in the feedback forum since July every time they preview a template, for example from the November preview:

"I agree, the first template company that produces (for example) regular templates featuring JReviews, EasyBlog, EasyDiscuss, EasySocial and MijoShop, all together and working with the template provider modules, would do very well indeed.

They do not need to abandon their current standard Joomla market, just add a (very) profitable niche with quality commercial components to their portfolio.

It just means looking at a partnership approach to development in this sector instead of in isolation."

There are a number of people supporting the same view and I think Joomlart are finally getting the message and moving from their previous position of a focus only on free Joomla extensions in their templates (EasyBlog was a first, now Mijoshop).
