Hello,

For some reason the menu item alias being generated is doubling the title.

https://wildernesswatch.org/sigurd-olson-and-the-establishment-of-voyageurs-national-park/sigurd-olson-and-the-establishment-of-voyageurs-national-park

I created a menu of blog posts linking to a single EasyBlog post.

I am using sh404sef and don't have this problem on other pages. I did try resetting sh404sef and clearing all caches and it still generated the double titles.

Why is it doubling the title?

Thanks

Hi Chuck,

Can I have a permission to purge EasyBlog's SEF Url for further troubleshoot this issue? Because as I try temporarily disable the SH404sef the link seems do not doubled anymore: https://www.screencast.com/t/AqhUq5rvx
And may I know do you want EasyBlog using SH404sef?

You do have my permission to purge the EasyBlog SEF.

We need to have the URL's be

http://www.wildernesswatch.org/name-of-blog-post

We have a history of blog posts using the above url's. So we need keep that going. Doesn't matter how as long as it is using the above.

Thanks, Chuck

Hi Chuck,

In order to make the url structure as you mention above:
http://www.wildernesswatch.org/name-of-blog-post

You need to make EasyBlog as your 'home' where by current entry structure:
http://yoursite.com/menu/title

https://www.screencast.com/t/FwhyG7bq
it will always refer to the menu (in your case is 'keeping-wilderness-wild-blog-post')
So the menu structure for entry view will be: https://www.screencast.com/t/HbCd1sD1XkI

I figured out where the double titles are being generated. It is when I link to a blog post in a Joomla article.

We have a Joomla Category called Blog Summary, it has Joomla articles that have a read more link. The Read More links to the blog post via a menu link in the Menu Blog. Linking this way causes the doubling of the titles.

Is there a way to stop linking via a menu to not double the titles?

Hello Chuck,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, not entirely sure if I understand you here. Do you mean you have a read more link from your Joomla article to EasyBlog posts? How did you link them currently?

Yes, it is a Read More. We have a blog summaries, they are a joomla article that has a couple sentences then a link to the full blog post.

I use the JCE Editor link to create the link to the full blog post via the Blog Menu. You have to link via the menu system because we can't link directly to the blog post.

When creating this menu link, is where the titles get doubled up.

Hello Chuck,

Ah, I see. I guess this is why the menu alias get's doubled up because JCE is probably using a different routing method to generate the URLs.

EasyBlog's router is different because we try to get the correct menu id based on it's views and because JCE doesn't know which menu should be associated with the view, this is why you ended up with such urls

Perhaps you want to try to use the "Embed Post" link in EasyBlog instead?

Can you describe where the "Embed Post" link is? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks for help and have a great weekend!

Hello Chuck,

You can do so by clicking on the "Posts" link at the top as you can see from my screen shot here, http://take.ms/tGDUt .

Thanks for the quick reply.

How can I easily link to a blog post from a Joomla article?

What if I have a Joomla article and had a sentence that said, "Check out our new blog post", and I quickly wanted to create a link.

Is there a way?

Hello Chuck,

Ah, that functionality is only to create links to the posts available on EasyBlog and not from within Joomla article

Ok

That's why I created a Joomla menu with all the Easyblog posts. Then tried to link to via the text editor. But as you know that created the double titles in the url.

I'll just link with the full urls.

Thanks again and have a great weekend
