Hi all,

I'm the Joomla admin for our site and would also like to play an active role in our EasySocial network.

I would like to encourage site members to befriend a "brand user". I was assuming that this should be the Joomla admin's user account.

This works, in that I can log into ES as the site admin and post etc etc.

However, this account cannot be found when users search for it. I have tried to search for the Joomla admin user's username, and the "personal real name" and nothing comes up. They can find it when I give people the direct URL though.

"Include Site Administrators" is enabled.

So, my questions are:

Should the Joomla admin be an EasySocial user?

If yes, how do I make this user visible?

Cheers,
Paul
Hey Paul,

It is possible that your admin account is not in the smart search index, which is why users cannot find that account.
Often times the main super user account is created before EasySocial was even installed, that's why that account is not in the smart search index.

To check if your admin user is in the smart search index, go to backend>Components>SmartSearch>SearchTools>Select Type of Content>EasySocial.Users

If the user is not in the list, click on Index at the top left corner.
If the user still does not appear in the list then please provide us your backend and the user you wish to be included in searches so we can look into this issue.

Otherwise, once the user is in the smart search index list, you should be able to search for the user's profile in EasySocial.
