I'm having trouble with my integration of EasySocial and EasyDiscuss.
I'm getting a strange version of the EasySocial toolbar showing up in article views in Joomla and in MyProfile page when logged in to EasySocial.

I'm trying to roll out some changes to the live site. I recently change theme to Horizon, I think this is when the issue showed up.
I just cannot get this to hide unless I use CSS which is not the correct solution.

I am also getting this on the live site and that is also using Horizon.
Sorry, forgot images

Hey Gary,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, are you trying to turn this off in the articles and EasyDiscuss?

You can turn this off in the articles by editing the EasySocial content plugin and disabling the option as shown here, http://take.ms/xitYg

You can also turn this off in EasyDiscuss by accessing Settings > Integrations > EasySocial, http://take.ms/l3Zyi

By the way, I managed to replicate this locally and I have also added this into our internal issue tracker.

Hi Mark,
Not a problem about time, I wasn't expecting response over weekend, just wanted to get the ticket in so it was ready for Monday.

Just to clarify, we definetely want Easysocial/EasyDiscuss integration...fully. Turning the something off there doesn't make sense?
We just don't want this rogue toolbar showing up.

Both our Easysocial and Easydiscuss content plugins are disabled, so I don';t think it is that.

It looks to me like it is the Easysocial toolbar that is showing up but seems to be a different flavour which is why I mentioned what template we are using...

Hi Gary,

It looks like you do have the ES content plugin enabled in your dev site(http://take.ms/uMHEo). The setting is also enabled, so the author header shows on the Joomla article page.

You can either disable that author box setting or disable the plugin as mentioned by Mark. We will also fix the Horizon theme styling issue internally.

If the issue is urgent, would you like me to help you apply a temporary fix? If yes, can you provide us your dev site ftp access as well?

Hi Mark,
Thanks for responding so quickly on this...

You're right, the plugin was enabled on Dev site but not on live site and image above showing user profile through EasySocial when logged in was taken from live site.

Disabling the plugin fixes the issue showing on Joomla articles...(secret facepalm!)

I have provided access to the dev site, details should be attached to this ticket, no?

Hey Gary,

You have provided the backend details. But I do not see the ftp details(http://take.ms/4soFw).

I would like to access the ftp, apply the fix files and test the fix. The fix is for correcting the profile header styling in ES profile page.

Please advice. Thanks.

Hey Gary,

I can try installing a ftp extension in the backend but apparently the site has some kind of restriction in place preventing me from doing so.

I could also provide you the files. But if the fix does not work, or if it breaks something, I would have no way of troubleshooting it without access to the site files.

Other than that, you can also wait for the fix in the next release of EasySocial.

Hey Gary,

Do you mean the ftp access? You can edit your first post and include them there.

Hey Gary,

Thanks for the access. I have helped you apply the fix in the following file:
JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/horizon/styles/style.min.css

I have renamed your original file at the same directory: http://take.ms/7SSr6

The profile header should show properly now in Joomla article and ES profile page(http://take.ms/784pH).

If you are applying this fix in your other site, remember to backup the original file over there beforehand as a precaution.

Hi Raymond, thanks for taking the time to add the the fix.It looks much better.
Although I think there is a little confusion over the perceived issue. I didn't want this toolbar to show up at all.

I think it makes this view overly complicated. I don't really now where to start when I look at it. I essentially have 3 toolbars now.

I really think this view needs to be re thought. I know my clients(who admittedly are a more senior genreation) will struggle to understand what to do where.

Is there any wway to control what toolbars show on what page? ie on this profile page, the "action toolbar" could be hidden?

Step back from the idea that it works now(which it does thank you) and look at it from a user trying to understand what they should do at this point.

Hey Gary,

I see what you mean there. The 'toolbar' which you want to hide(http://take.ms/GBLf6) is not really a toolbar but a header of the user's profile. This header will appear in individual user/cluster pages which displays info about the item in question.

In this header, the user's avatar, cover, and various other links is shown. This links actually brings us to the user's friends, albums, videos, audio and so on.

The other toolbar on top(http://take.ms/on2NY) is different in a sense that the links directs us to video, audio listing on EasySocial and our own friends/followers page. In short, this is EasySocial's global toolbar.

This toolbar can be disabled at Settings>Layout>General(http://take.ms/o865b).

Yes but that is a global disable which means we loose the search and the options cog.

While I understand the explanation, you have to see in effect these toolbars don't work together, its just too over complicated as UI and UIX. We need more control over where and when these toolbars show.

I will resort to CSS hiding for now, the profile header brings nothing to the table.

Thanks for your time on this,
