Hi!
I am trying to upgrade from version 2.xx to version 3.xx
The Joomla update is stuck in the downloading files section (see attachment)

Is this something normal? I used the launcher for updating. I didn't find any documentation on how to update 2 -> 3. I only found how to update from old version to version 2.1. Maybe you need to update the how-to section?
Hey there,

You're most welcome.

I just checked and tested on your site and it seems that both backend and frontend are working fine for me here.

Am I missing anything?

Can you try to clear all of your caches and see how it goes OR try on another browser that has never access on your site and see how it goes?

Hey there,

Do you mean that you want to update your EasySocial but the update installation is stuck?

If yes, can we have the permission to help you to update your EasySocial for you?

If yes, can you include your site's access and FTP's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so that we can have a better check it for you?

Also, do perform a full backup of your site before we update it for you.

Based on your screenshot, that is EasySocial installation instead of Joomla.

Hi Irwin,

Yes that is exactly what I meant. The Joomla update function of the EasySocial plugin gets stuck.

I already made a full website backup before attempting to do this.
I have the backup downloaded, just in case I needed to wipe this account clean and start over.
I have saved Joomla access credentials, and ftp access credentials on the dashboard.
Feel free to upgrade this for me, if possible!
Many thanks!

Panos

Hey there,

It seems that the following error occurs during the installation:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12587008 bytes) in JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/setup/controllers/installation.php on line 2704

Can you ask your web hosting provider to increase the value of memory_limit to 256M of your Local Value and see how it goes? https://take.ms/9sP9E

Dear Irwin,

I updated SSL (it had expired), I upgraded from PHP 7.0.33 to 7.3.4, because I also upgraded to Joomla 3.9.
I also changed memory_limit to 256.
The installation of EasySocilal 3.0.5 when super-smooth.
Thank you!

I now have a different issue, where the backend is not loading the Easysocial version info, and is not depicting the graph with users etc. Also in the frontend, the reaction emojis are not visible (they appear as squares).
In addition, the feed doesn't work. Not on the landing page, and not in my homepage when I log in.
Any idea what might be causing it? Could you guys please have a look?

Well, not sure what was wrong, but it fixed itself!!

Maybe it was indeed the cache.
Again, many thanks for the 5-star response.
