Hello,

I'm having some issue with content shared to facebook. Some post does share very well, but others don't at all and display my main site description and/or use a random image from a side modules. Even if on the Facebook debug it shows the correct info and image!

I've been using the plugin "Perfect Open Graph Tags" for which I excluded Easysocial from the list of components. I event unpublished the plugin but still have the same issues.

Also, I realize that when I share something through my site, my Facebook app-id isn't include in the meta tags. Here the warning I get when using the facebook debug tool.

fb:app_id hasn't been included in the meta tags. Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog. Otherwise, the default app id( 966242223397117 ) will be assigned.

How can I fix this?

I added some urls which won't appear correctly in site detail.

Thanks a lot.
Hey there,

Can you please provide the link to the stream item that has these issues?

EasySocial does not actually generates the app_id in the header of the page. I am not too sure why do you need it eh? If I recall correctly app_id is only needed for Facebook comments.

Hello Mark,

I think I got thing to work a little better (no more issue with App_id) but the images from the side modules are still taking over the main page content most of the time!

You can try this link: https://wattssoul.com/community/videos/5-encompass-me-live/item

When using the share button on the page, I get an image from the marketplace module and my site default meta description.

I think at least half of the pages have issue when sharing to social medias.

Now I don't know if it comes from Easysocial or Facebook, but I know that If I don't use Facebook debug to Fetch new scrape information, links are never complete the first time...

I believe you have some system plugin that actually tries to append opengraph tags on the page and this is why Facebook is trying to pick what you have defined on the page. Try to debug it here, https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwattssoul.com%2Fcommunity%2Fvideos%2F5-encompass-me-live%2Fitem
