Hello Stackideas Support,

i am really happy with your recent lots of updates with usefull fixes and features

Unfortunately i have no luck with "Reactions visibility can now be set on per category basis". I toggled reactions globally on for the site and the general entry view. Just for one category "uncategorized" i disabled reactions (please see screenshots). Nevertheless in frontend reactions are shown in entry layout of posts of this category. On my site for example you can see it in first two posts. Can you pleas have a look after this issue.

Thank you and best regards, Macjoomla
Hey Macjoomla,
This is because single post entry settings are prioritized over the category settings: http://take.ms/UGqqN
Perhaps you can set the setting to inherit, so the menu item will inherit what is set in the category.

Hi Macjoomla,
Your first two posts belong to the category 'Uncategorized'. When I check this category, it seems to be inheriting the global entry layout settings: http://take.ms/8dUHl
So the reactions will display since it is enabled in the global entry layout.
Once you have set the category to not show the reactions, then it should be fine. Try it out and let us know how it goes.

Hello Raymond,

thank you for your answer. You are right, this time. But there seems to be a not obvius problem with showing or not showing reactions. So please if you can take a look again to my site, you will see, i corrected preferences as you said and at first, it worked. But then i published a second menu "reactions issue" with a link directly to the first post. Now in this menu the reactions are showing. And additionally it makes the reactions showing on frontpage first post too.

So try to unpublish menu "reactions issue", then the reactions will disappear in first post of menu "home" again. Strange, is is not?

Thank you for having another look and best regards, Macjoomla

Hey Raymond,

thank you for pointing this out, so there is not only a visibility set on per category basis but also on a per post basis. This is even a better feature update than i was expecting There is no issue, i just did not find the correct preferences.

Thank you very much and best regards, Macjoomla
