Quick Question, considering purchase of PayPlans.

Would PayPlans only be available to members of my website or can visitors sign up to a plan? I would like to use it for tournament registration/payment but there is no need for the user to become a member of the website.
Hello,

Yes, you can use PayPlans for registration and payment purpose. Visitors can access your site without registering at your site.
But for registration user need to subscribe plan.

Let me know if you have any query.

Thank you Manisha and sorry, i forgot to ask, can the payment be made to any person/company that i add when setting up the plan details or does it always have to be made to me/website owner?

If I can set it up to be paid to any person/company, do they need to be a member of my website?

Oh, just website owner?

I would be creating plans for tournaments and collecting an admin fee (normally through PayPal Adaptive payments but can be any process), for example:

Tournament with 192 players.
Entry fee £2 per player (non-recurring subscription)
Admin fee 5% (or it could be a flat fee of £20)

The entry fee would go to the Tournament Secretary (not me and sometimes he may not be a member of the website)
The admin fee would go to me

Is this possible with PayPlans?

Hello Richard,

As per your reply you need to use Tournament Secretary's PayPal Adaptive merchant account, so payment will go to his account.
For admin fees, he will send money to your account , because in payplans there is no functionality for split payments.

You need to manage admin fee on your end.
Let me know if you have any confusion.

Thank you Manisha, that process is fine, so just to confirm, are all of the following correct?

1. I can use PayPlans to receive payments to my own account* for a plan
2. I can use PayPlans to receive payments to a 3rd party account* (who is a member of my website) for a plan
3. I can use PayPlans to receive payments to a 3rd party account* (who is not a member of my website) for a plan

*Account means for receiving money. I would use the correct payment addon for PayPlans and enter the account details to receive payment.

Hey Richard,

Yes, that is absolutely correct. Here's an illustration of how payplan apps works currently, http://take.ms/Nx76D . You could create an unlimited amount of app instances from the PayPal app which in turn allows you to associate the payment with specific plans.

This way, you can create 3 plans and have 3 paypal apps which points to different receiver paypal's e-mail. Do take note that split payments aren't supported as Manisha pointed out and those needs to be handled manually.

You can however, track this on your end because each order still goes through PayPlans

Perfect Mark, thank you and thank you to Manisha as well, the answers were all very helpful in directing me to the right solution, much appreciated.

I was just double/triple checking at the end as it will be an important part of the Sports package and needs to be very flexible.

Manual Split Payments are fine as well, hopefully we should be ready to run with PayPlans at the end of September.
