My community relies on all profiles being able to be viewed and searched by registered members - we don't allow private profiles, or "lurking." Is there any way to lock this down so that users do not have access to change the top two options in Privacy settings?
Hi Beth,

In profile, select the one you want, in privacy you can set everything up to desire.
If you want to always have these settings, could in custom fields, select the fields one by one, select the avanced tab and set privacy to no.

These aren't custom fields, these are general privacy settings. I have already disabled the privacy icon on the core fields, but they can still set their entire profile to be visible only to their friends. Is there any way to disable this from the backend?

Oh, do you mean this setting on screen ?
Only hack would do. There are still few features that can't be turned off in back-end yet AND there are no ACL yet to set who can access such feature.

Hi Beth,

Regarding the above, currently you cant lock the privacy selection. As suggested by Alexandre, you will need to modify your EasySocial theme file. Attached the modified php to lock the two privacy in user's profile privacy setting page. Copy the file 'default.edit.privacy.php' to folder 'JOOMLAl/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/profile/' and overwrite the existing default.edit.privacy.php file. Please do a backup first before you overwrite the original file.

Once you've applied the file, your page should look like this:

Hope this help and have a nice day
