I have an app already available if anyone is interested.

It does as Facebook does and it allows you to translate a foreign language to your native language. The app works for both the main stream as well as group stream. It handles the translation just like Facebook using the Bing Api. The positive side is that Bing offers 5000 translations per month free. The downside is this does not last long. I thought of also writing it to accept Google Translate.

Before I invest anymore time into this project I want to see if anyone here would find it useful?

Here is an example of the app installed and running it as a test: http://screencast.com/t/itXsEbxEt7

If useful, would you be willing to pay for such an app set? I run (2) global websites so for me it is imperative.

Thanks,
James
Wow, really nice James! I think it could be a good to release this as a freemium model. Free to download, paid for support

Yea, I just don't know if I have time for the support.

If the StackIdeas team was willing to continue the development I would gladly release it for free. Otherwise I might find me a good developer to continue the development myself and also provide the needed support that will come with it. I have a few other ideas for some great apps but again, will need a dedicated developer and support personnel. Both things I have little/no time to manage alone.

Thoughts and Ideas?

Sounds good to me Mark.

Would you like me to send it to you via Skype like normal or post it up here? I would assume let you guys workout any bugs you may see prior to putting it in the hands of the public. However, both apps are pretty good. The only thing I ask is to keep me as one of the Software Authors as well as my former developer Henry Harion. And, please lets do as you suggest, keep it Freeware.

Thanks,
James

Awesome, this is really cool. One thing that I've wanted for a while is a option on the profile to select the language the user speaks and then a translator translates the pages they look at. But this here is a great step in the right direction. Personally I speak English as my native language, but want my audience to feel as comfortable as possible.

Thanks James for creating this cool app.
