Hi SI Team

I have read this here:

http://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/groups/auto-join-groups

But am still lost…

I have a site with nearly 800 members and would like to put them in a Group.
They have already registered.
Is it possible to do this?
The only way I have found so far is going to ES Groups/Members in the preferences and adding them 20 at a time…
I am trying to get all members into this group here "BUG Mother Ship"

thanks

Paul
Paul,

If this is a one time, you could you update the database to reflect the addition of all member id.

For the future, I have posted an autoaddgroup couple months ago on the site. Very basic but it does the job to add each profile to a certain group.

However, doesn't it add been added OEM in the registration process now ?

@Alexandre, can you provide a link to the thread discussing "autoaddgroup"? It didn't come up for me on search of the phrase. Are you referring to the discussion of a prospective app that would apparently auto add a member to a group based on the value of a profile field?

Hi Eileen,

I have added my old code. However I saw that there is an option in the code now to do about the same per profile type.

Let me know.

Hey Paul,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

Yes, only this way you can manually add user join to special group.

Regarding this new auto join group feature is actually happen when the new user complete their registration on your site, so this new user will automatically join in the group which you configured from backend > Easysocial > profile type

Hey Arlex

Yes I am slowly getting my head around this.
It seems to me to be a pity that this is not implemented by SI?
Add an option to list, 20, 100, 500, 1000 all members.
Then select, deselect members and add to group…

Maybe this is harder to implement than I can imagine.
But I would have thought that something like this is pretty easy…

Please correct me if I am wrong

Hi SI team & SIers

Yeah removing the limit and having "field" search functions connected to this would IMHO open a lot of doors. Just saying

all the best

Hi Guys,

If we remove the limit there might be some issue with max execution time of your server as it will take a longer time to process all 1000 members to join into a group. Hence we make the limit of 20 so that such issue won't occur on other site. Nevertheless thanks for the suggestions and we will see if we can improve this feature in the next future release of easysocial.
