Is there a way to incorporate the "Share What's New" function into the Activity Stream Module?

Is there a way to incorporate the "Share What's New" function into the Activity Stream Module, at the top of the Activity Stream? I want to enable Members to post there with that function only, as opposed to needing the entire Toolbar/Menu functionality in order to accomplish this. OR is the Activity Stream Module simply designed to be a static, view-only module?

Yup activity stream module was design to display the feeds from your EasySocial only. To add 'share what news' feature into this module, it involved quite alot of works but currently we are quite tied up to our 1.1 development. Maybe you can submit this feature request in our user voice http://stackideas.com/voices
