We will be using Groups in a different way, Groups will be predefined and can only be created by Site Admins, if there are needs to create more. The Groups will NOT be managed by the Site Admins instead by an ordinary users. Since Site Admins are not going to be the Leader of the Group I'm wondering:

  1. is there is a way to set a Member to become the Owner.
  2. as a Site Admin (Super User) do I have an automatic Administrative capabilities to any Group? I mean a member or not of any Groups, will I have the capabilities of what a Group Owner or Admin have.
  3. if there is no feature to change a member to owner, where in the table can I change this setting?
  4. I suggest this feature will be added to Groups in the future.

Thanks!
Hi,

There is a setting to change owner already, these guys have everything covered

Select the group checkbox next to the group you would like to change owner then at the top you will see a tab Change Owner.

See my attached

Just a quick follow up on this. Is there any way to have multiple admins of a group? Or is this not possible right now, or is it a case of having multiple moderators of a group and how is this possible? Thanks in advance

Hi,

It appears there is no way to have multiple admins of groups just yet.

It could be a good idea to maybe have moderators who can edit on the frontend.

Regards
Alex

Thanks for the update Alex, yes the issue with my groups are I would need 2 or 3 members of the group to moderate or update the rest of the users of the group, whether that be as group admins or as group moderators I am not sure but it would be required at some point.

Hello guys,

You can already assign multiple admins to a group on the front end. Just click on the members tab on the left, and on the hover dropdown, you should see an option that says "Promote to admin". See my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/LANNKoKf
