I have a client who has recently upgraded to 5.0.29 and is experiencing real problems with publishing posts.
first despite having permission through ACL to both write and publish post she only has the option of submit for approval in the editor
secondly, when attempting to shut the editor she gets a message of something like "view not found... Login ajax fail"
Can you shed any light on this behaviour?
Hey Nick,

it is most likely that the user group she is in does not have permissions to publish posts. Ideally, "Registered" users shouldn't be allowed to publish post because then, everyone on the site will be able to publish posts. You need to assign the user to a more trustable group, and edit the group in the ACL at the back end of EasyBlog and give them the rights to publish posts.

As for the second issue, Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

By the way, kindly please do add your domain into your license details at http://stackideas.com/dashboard as we will soon be enforcing a new policy in the forums.

HI Mark,

Many thanks for your response...

Happy to provide access as you have requested, but as I said in my original post this user DOES have the requisite permissions to both write and publish posts so I am not sure why she can not do so!?

The lady in question is Maria Z and, as you will see, she is a member of both "site owner" group & "blogger" groups

Just so you know, as a super admin on this site I see neither of the problems reported here...

The blogger group does not have privileges to publish posts This is probably why she can't publish the post. I have saved the ACL for the blogger group, can you request her to relogin again?

HI Mark,
Many thanks for your response again...

OK are you saying that before you saved it the Blogger group did not have permission to write or publish blogs?

Even so, she is also a member of the "site owner" group with does (and did) have these permissions - so why could she not publish? (she could write) sorry don't understand if she was in any group with publish permissions why she was prevented in doing so?

Hey Nick,

Deny rules always win and this is the same behavior as Joomla as well. If she is part of 2 groups, she is inheriting the access from both groups. If either one of the group denies her from publishing, she will be denied

HI Mark,

so that means that as we have her also in registered, and that group is NOT allowed to publish a blog (or write one actually) then she would still not be able to do so unless ALL the groups she was in had those permissions - is that right?
