Hi there,

I'd like to have one of the articles on my front page to be a "coming soon" short paragraph entry, and I want to disable user access to the full article view. I've already removed the 'read more' option, but the title automatically links to the full article by default.
How can I disable this feature?

Thanks!
Hello Gera,

Actually you can configure for some of the user group only have the permission to view this blog post from backend > Easyblog > category > select your category > category access tab > privacy > Select "Assigned Joomla backend" > then put which user group you wouldn't like to access.

Hope this help.

Thanks for your answer Arlex!

However that's not exactly what I was asking for-
I want to remove the link to the full article from the title of the articles in the front page view. Can you help with that?

I'm not trying to edit back-end access.

Thanks again.

Gera

Hello Gera,

I can provide a hack for you but I need to know what Easyblog theme you are using because this hack is depends on theme. And it would be easier for us if you can provide us your backend and FTP so we can directly apply this on your site. Please advise.

Hello Gera,

What I mean theme is the theme in Easyblog that you are using. It is in Backend>Easyblog>Themes. Please advise.

Hello Gera,

Ah, I see. It is a custom theme for Easyblog which I don't have in my local. Means I need to apply the hack on your site. I will tell you what I did once done. Please if you can provide us your backend and FTP.

Hello Gera,

You have to find this file: ../components/com_easyblog/themes/ja_fixel/blog.item.php and remove this line:
http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-21_0104-1.png . If you can't find it, you can attach the file here.

Thank you, this works. But the image is still clickable. I also noticed it makes all the titles unclickable. I was hoping to connect this to the read more button.
Can we make the image and title unclickable for the articles that don't have a 'read more'?

Hello Gera,

Kindly please understand that customizations are actually not supported in accordance to our support policy. We try our best to assist you with very minor tweaks but your request here requires us to perform quite a bit of hack and I am afraid we might not be able to assist you with this.
