Hello,
I'm wondering if it's possible to DOWNGRADE TO THE EARLIER EASYBLOG BEFORE THIS ONE?

**i must have read all the technical issues in this forum regarding [EASYBLOG 5]
AND I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION: It's not ready yet
It seems that anyone who is having trouble.....your team is ALWAYS ASKING
for there access to the backend or their ftp information.
Not trying to down play you guys or anything BUT it's just not ready.
We shouldn't have to be going through all of this....REALLY
How can i downgrade?
Thanks in advance,
Dan
Hey Dan,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Unfortunately that was not possible to downgrade to Easyblog 3.x from Easyblog 5.x

May i know what issue you facing now? Perhaps you can provide us more detail and site access so we can take a look?

Looking forward of your response.

none of my other issues were resolved
the list is kind of lengthy, still waiting.
It just seems everything that was promoted for easyblog5 is just not happening
as described.
SURE, you talk as if that's what it features and all
BUT actually going as planned it does not
it's just one issue after another.
**Not trying to step on your company in a bad way or anything
i'm sure you mean well by your easyblog5.....BUT it's just not working

Hi Dan,

I would also like to know what issues you were facing with EB5, i'm a little fortunate as i decided to wait for all issues to be sorted out before upgrading. (I'm still on the last version)

Having said the above, its always wise to upgrade on local or a staging environment, then check everything before upgrading on live.

regards

Hi Sunny,
First let me say that i'm not in anyway angry with stackideas and their easyblog5.
well, maybe just alittle
Their easyblog5 promotions are great. But that's as far as it goes.
Just take a look @ the forums It just seems that easyblog5 is still in [trial and error mode]
any situation you may have....they have 2 questions for you
1). give me the access to the back-end of your site
2). give me the ftp access and we'll take a look @ it

The situation there is....WHY?
You've spent almost a whole year blogging about easyblog5 and where you're at with it, like it's going to be the next big thing in blogging.
hell, they sold me on it
But the truth of the matter is.....It's not ready
You would think
1). Purchase it
2). Download and install it
3). Marvel at all the upgrades and improvements!! [which is very nice by the way:) ]
4). But that's as far as it goes....it's just one thing after another
setting for facebook, composing, posting, adding media, adding audio,
does't show all the blocks,
the pop up window that shows the templates you can use expands full page, now you can can't get out unless you shut down your whole page and lose the page you were creating ......blah-blah-blah

still waiting for my 3 issues to be handled [Nothing yet] and i have a feeling they won't because it's not a quick fix
i feel that this easyblog5 is not fully ready. as i said earlier, take a look @ the easyblog5 forum
*oh well, money well spent on something, that will never be
I'm looking @ another component right now.
excuse my rambling....
Dan
**attached is image of where you not not escape unless you shut down your page, bummer

Hi Dan,

I understand the frustration, but i think its not wise to put the entire blame on SI, as testing has to be done locally before deploying on production. Maybe the issues you have might be unique to you, i was testing with EB on my local and my issues were different. (I'm not a fan of the new composer, but its my personal taste).
My opinion on EB 5 is that it has made progress by leaps but the focus on visual gimmekry has super-seeded the technicals. ( Its always so in most of the companies, the marketing guys push for certain features for differentiation and technical guys have to accommodate anyhow)

Anyways i also concur with you that EB is still WIP (Work in progress), but whats not? everything evolves for a greater good and there are casualties on the way (Space shuttle had exploded many times)

But you can have hope as the support at SI is great and they do have a nice track record of solving issues.

Let me make myself clear:
I'm not putting any blame on no one, If anyone is to blame?.....it's me for making the decision to purchase it

Your original question was:
I would also like to know what issues you were facing with EB5
So, I told you

Again:
Not blaming anyone, Just stating the issues
Have a good one

hey Dan,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

Perhaps you can give us a chance assist you on this?

If that is possible, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can figure out what is the issue causing `invalid parameter` error (screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/0UTfzptAwCmc )?

By the way, thanks Sunny heading up on this.
