My client wants visitors to the site to be able to use the comments editor on posts without first requiring a login or registration - but to enforce the login before they are actually allowed to Submit the comments.

I can see that it is possible to allow guest comments, and that it is possible to enforce a login before allowing any access to the comments mechanism - I just haven't found a way to only enforce a login when the Submit button is clicked.

Is it possible please?

A second question : I am using SLogin which enables logins through Facebook, Twitter, etc - Is there a way to integrate this into EasyBlog so that the SLogin mechanism comes up when clicking the Easyblog login button?

Thanks for any guidance.
Hello Chris,

You could set it in Backend > Easyblog > Settings > Comments
Allow non members to comment =yes
Allow registrations during commenting = yes
Moderate guest comments = yes

Make sure you require email for the registration

There is no settings for what you had mention only the ones that i just explain above.

I'm sorry but there is no settings for what you mention above

Thanks:)

Hello Khairul,

I have the settings as you describe above already - but it would be really good to have the option to Force login at the submission point if the user is not already logged in - perhaps this is a function you add in a future release. I guess a fairly straightforward thing to do to check login status at that point?

Are you planning to add social media logins to the Easyblog LogIn? This is becoming much more widespread now and would be good to have - can this be added to your list of improvements requested please.

Many thanks

Chris

Hello Chris,

Please replace the attached file in ../components/com_easyblog/views/entry/view.ejax.php since I can't access your FTP to apply the hack. Hope this helps.

Many thanks Nick - only just seen this - applied and it works perfectly. This is an excellent feature as it allows and encourages commenting but still forces the requirement to register. It would be a nice additional feature to have a switch in Backend > Easyblog > Settings > Comments to turn this feature ON or OFF in the future.

Great Support - thanks again.

Hello Chris,

It would be a great feature. We will discuss about this feature with our developer and see how it goes.
