Hi!

How can I change my "Invite Friend via Email" editor ?
I want a much simpler version than what comes by default.
It seems the field uses TinyMCE Editor by default and there is no way to change it.
I'm OK with that in general, but in Joomla's TinyMCE Settings I can change the editor layout only by modifying the SUPER USER role's settings, which I find very inconvenient and strange. Shouldn't that field belong to a lower level user role?
End even then, when I set my desired editor layout for Super User, still in the front-end appears "CMS content" dropdown menu which I don't want and can't find a way to get rid of.

Please advise.
Hey there,

1. To change "Invite Friend via Email" editor can be achieved using global configuration. Go to backend > global configuration > site > change default editor as you wish choosing under drop down menu, click save and close.

2. To add/remove a user group for the editor layout go to backend > plugins > Editor-TinyMCE > Under editor you can see three type of set to whom you can assign/modify what user is available to use what kind of editor layout. For reference, view the screenshot attached below.

3. To disable the 'CMS Content' drop down menu, follow these steps. Go to backend > plugins > Search for Button contact, Button menu and Button field and you can see the plugin type 'editors-xtd' disable all these plugins, click save and close.

Go to the front end and reload the page to see the changes. Could you take a look at it and see how it goes?

Thanks!

Hi, Thiyagarajan !

Thank you for your support.
I have managed to achieve what I want with your guidance.

Yet I find it a bit strange that I have to modify a Super User's role in TinyMCE settings to control this invite field, maybe it is more appropriate to associate it with some lower level user role !?
Also, do all 'editors-xtd' plugins functions is only for this dropdown menu, ... is it safe to permanently disable them?

Do you mean that is it possible to render a normal editor without the "CMS content" option by default and without disabling any setting from the backend?

Yes, this is the Joomla default behavior, and it is safe to disable all if you do not want the site user to use it.

If you only want to allow your site Superadmin to use it, you actually can configure the "editor-xtd" access to "Super User" so these options are only available for the site admin.

No, I mean that in Joomla > Plugins > TinyMCE Settings the only way to assign certain UI Set to EasySocail's "Invite by Email" field is to assign it to a "Super Users" role. ...... what I find strange.
But, never mind I can go with it.

Thanks for the support!

Best,
Viktor
