Hi.
When I am doing a blog on the front end and I go to save it, I get the following error message 'invalid character". This has happened on 3 separate blogs being done on the front end. this occurs after I have uploaded images
Hey Hari,

I have tried to access your site but I can't seem to reproduce this issue Were you able to reproduce this on your end?

This is what happens when I hit the "Submit for Approval" button, http://screencast.com/t/xnC50w12Ru

Hi. One of our users (on Easyblog) is also encountering this same problem with the 'Invalid Character' error message and has been unable to successfully save/upload blog posts. Please see the attached screenshot.

Hello Simon,

I can't replicate your issue on your site. May I know the exact post that has this issue?

The [problematic] post that the user tried to upload never got saved, not even in drafts mode when checked in the back end...

Hey Simon,

There are quite a number of possibilities which contributes to the "Invalid character" error message but it certainly isn't being generated by EasyBlog.

What I am suspecting here (as we are not too sure how were you trying to reproduce this error)

1. (Highly possible) The blog post contains a keyword that is being filtered by a security system plugin. It's not allowing the POST to happen because it contains a specific banned keyword. The only way to know is to check the list of installed system plugins and try to turn them off temporarily to try this out.

2. (Highly possible) When the blog post is saved, it also triggers content plugins. During this time, the content plugins may be throwing errors. The best way to test this is to try turn off some of these 3rd party content plugins.

3. (Less possible) The web server is blocking such requests.

If you are still having the same issue after trying the above, please:

- Provide the back end and ftp access to the site
- Provide the content that is used in the blog post

I thank you all for your replies back. I am sorry for being tardy in my response back to.
First, in response to Simon's request - It has occurred with quite a few posts and it occurs randomly. It occurs only when I am making a post from the front end of the site. One thing I noticed is that when I get the invalid character message and I have to quit doing the post, I am always logged out (or timed out) and I need to re-log back in. Does this make sense?
Again, thank you all for your help.

Hi Hari,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

Hm, we have been trying to replicate the issue here but no avail . This is what appear when we are trying to save/submit the blog post, http://screencast.com/t/tlXVLjG80sZ6 .

Can you provide us with the full text that you want to include in your blog post so we can try it directly on your site? By the way, the provided credentials does not have the permission to access the administrator page. Refer my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/jh5SpeulM . If possible, kindly provide us with your FTP access so we can apply the necessary fix directly in case we are able to replicate the issue later on.

Please advise.
