Hi folks,
just bought EasyBlog prof. and downloaded the file com_easyblog_3.9.15188_paid_j2.5.zip
I use Joomla 2.5.16

Tried to install it:
1. Upload package file:
shows after 1 minute: internal server error - look at error log file
What I see the uploaded file has 6,2 MB, allowed are 16 MB

As I can't find error log file after searching around with eXtplorer (even found nothing in /logs)
I downloaded the easyblog.pdf and tried Chapter 1: installing EasyBlog, page 4 "Install EasyBlog From Directory."

2. created the folder EasyBlog in /tmp and uploaded the zip-file "com_easyblog_3.9.15188_paid_j2.5.zip"
entered:
/tmp/EasyBlog

but no success: error "Please enter package directory"
I'm not sure: is /tmp directly under root?

Or whats the issue?

Hello Stefan,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I have help you installed Easyblog in your site, what i did for you is i tried to rename all the Easyblog folder

JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easyblog_old
JOOMLA/components/com_easyblog_old
JOOMLA/media/foundry_old

After that i help you install from directory, then it installed smoothly. So you can delete those folder i mentioned at above. Hope this help.

Hello Stefan Fey,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I have tried to access in your backend, it seems like you provided that user "support1" is not super administrator, can you please set the user "support1" with super administrator privilege, so we can try to install for you? Please advise.

Hello Arlex,

now EasyBlog is running fine.
I'm trying to understand what happened through my erronous install and how you fixed it. How can I avoid this issue if EasyBlog install process for my next website will be coming soon?
thx

Hello Stefan,

The issue is because there something to do with the file permission which cannot be overwrite. So, what my colleague did is rename all the Easyblog folders and let the installation create a new folder. Hope this helps.
