Hi there,
I've tried to update EasySocial and have now a blank screen, both front-end and back-end and can't access anything.
I've turned error reporting on via .htaccess and it says
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, admin and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.


I updated by uploading com_easysocial_component_pro_1.3.28_joomla3.0.zip to the /administrator/components/com_easysocial/setup/packages folder.

I'm still on J2.5.28 but wanted to (finally, I know) update do J3.4 today.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a backup I made pre-update, but it would be great if I wouldn't have to restore from backup.

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

It seems like for some reason the following folder is missing from your server directory, /media/foundry/3.1/ thus causing the internal server error. I've manually upload the folder from my local instance to your server and the error is no longer persist now. Can you verify it for me and check if there any unusual on your site as everything seems to be fine here from my end?

Time difference, not delay, I'd say - you guys are always super fast and the best support ever!

Thank you, Ezrul, so much for finding the error and fixing it this quickly! It's all working now.
And EasySocial is also updated to the latest version, so it's all perfect!

Now I only have to upgrade to J3.4 without a hitch... but that's not your concern in any case!

Ah, sorry, I just found a problem:
When trying to logout on the front-end I get a blank screen and am not logged out.
And there's all kinds of links and buttons not working correctly (in the EasySocial part of the website). There's also no reaction when I click on either the of the icons on the blue menu bar that's on top of the community sites, except for the home button that leads to the dashboard. And it says I have no right to see the stream of a group, even though I have, and can access it from another link. And I can't edit a group (there's no reaction when clicking the button).

And in the backend, the activity protocol does not load, and whatever the menu item between Users and Events should be, it says "COM_EASYSOCIAL_MENU_ITEAM_SETTINGS_LOCATION_SERVICE".
