Hi,

I would like to use the easydiscuss conversation into my group. However I do not find the settings to change in the admin interface.

Thank you,
Hey Boris,

I think what you are after is something different from the app altogether. It requires customizations to be performed on both EasyDiscuss and EasySocial. I believe you have submitted a ticket on our helpdesk regarding these customizations and we'll reply you on that ticket instead.

Hey Boris,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, not really sure what do you mean here. Would you mind elaborating more on this please?

No problem. I would like to use easy discuss into easy social groups. However there is no option to integrate it.

Hey Boris,

In order to enable groups discussion from EasyDiscuss, you would need to install this app, https://stackideas.com/apps/item/3320-easydiscuss-group

That might be a solution, nevertheless, I believe the app is not exactly what we need. We require that INSTEAD of the fórum in a group to look like easydiscuss, that the users in that group can be able to create a discussion in EasyDiscuss FROM the group, meaning that it will be part of the public easydiscuss data base, meaning it will be accesible through easy discuss and not only through the group. In other words, we just need the easydiscuss to completely replace the fórum from easysocial groups, not make it the same in terms of functionality, and hopefully also allow users in a groups to see which questions they have asked from there, but always considering that those questions will be a part of easydiscuss, meaning public and accesible by everyone who Access our network. How can we solve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

That is exactly what EasyDiscuss groups app does. It also adds a new section in EasyDiscuss called "Groups" as you can see here, http://take.ms/PGFnw

So then, if someone in the group posts something in a group discussion, will that post be accesible by anyone who is not in the group, say someone who access our site and enters the easydiscuss part? And in terms of database, will this be part of the same database??? I don´t really understand why the discussion that are in groups should have separated tab in the easydiscuss section, unless they are only visible by the users who are part of the group. Or maybe the tab is only there when the user who is accessing easydiscuss is part of the group, but then will those questions be visible for all users in the website or only members of the group?
Because, according to this fórum question, it is not posible unless modifying the code, Am I right?

https://stackideas.com/forums/easydiscuss-group-discussion-on-to-easydiscuss-forum-page

We need that the questions asked in a group are visible by everyone and that belong to the same database. Also, how an we avoid that a question will be repeated many times? is it posible for someone in a group to mark a post from other fórum in a group discussion? That way, if he finds a question that has already been posted, it can be reposted in the group, but without adding an extra entry to easydiscuss. Can you help us?

Thanks in advance

Hm, unfortunately it doesn't do that because of privacy concerns. You are talking about complicated privacy as some groups could be closed, invite only and some open to the public. This is why normal posts made wouldn't appear on EasyDiscuss as there are no correlations between the privacy.

It might not make sense for you because perhaps your setup doesn't require much of privacy but some customers are very particular about the privacy of the groups.

In our case, groups will be closed, but not the fórums, as all questions will be public. Is it posible to solve this issue somehow? And when you talk about the privacy, you mean that in terms of database, they are separated? Fórum discuss/easydiscuss?

Maybe it is posible to change some part in the code of the App to, instead of directing the questions/answers to a specific object in the courses, direct it to the database of EasyDiscuss. Please some help as you know more about the code and functionalities of Easydiscuss and Easydiscuss App.

Hey Boris,

Can you check my following point and see whether i understand correctly with your requirement?

1. Whoever Group member post a discussion in different type of group (open/closed/invite), you would like non-member can be accessible these discussion post but only group member can reply?

Or

2. Whoever Group member post a discussion in different type of group (open/closed/invite), you would like non-member can be accessible these discussion post and everyone also can reply?

And when you talk about the privacy, you mean that in terms of database, they are separated? Fórum discuss/easydiscuss?

Perhaps you can look at my following explanation, i believe you can understand more about the default workflow.

1. As long as that discussion posted from group, only registered user can able to access.
2. Open group - Registered member only can access
3. Closed group - Only group member can access
4. Invite only group - Only group member can access
5. All these group discussion only appear on Easydiscuss > group page

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I think the alternative that better explains what we need is number 2. In that sense, I believe we differ from the custom workflow. I will try to explain better what we need. We basically need a public stackoverflow type fórum where, if questions are asked in groups, they are accesible by everyone, allowing anyone to answer them. Groups might be private, open or even invite-only, but questions will be public. What might not be public in a group is the feed and whatever material or file or video (for example) is shared on it. All requirements are this:

1) If some member asks a question in a group, non-members will be able to find it and answer it in the easydiscuss fórum as well.
2) if some member of a group finds a question in the easydiscuss fórum, they will be able to mark/save that question in the group. (that should also help to avoid repeated questions).
3) if a question is either asked or saved from the easydiscuss fórum into a specific group, the members of the group will be able to see either all the available answers (members and non-members) and the answers from the members of the group.
4) the questions can receive a "like" by the users (as is already possible in easydiscuss). If possible we need to add another "like" from special users with special permission in the network (super-validation). Also, if possible, it would be great to add that, in a group, a member can see the answer that is more liked by the members of the group.
5) We need the answers of a question to be ordered by most super-validated and more liked by users. Stack overflow type fórum with an extra validation from super-users.
6) We need all questions/answers to be in the same database for later use of them.

We know that some require customization, but it would be great to receive some guidance to how to solve them, and to find help to develop the customization as a service.

Thanks for the help!
