Website is down after trying to upgrade and it now gives me an error that the installation file download fails on both using api and package. This has also affected my users so I cannot create a support user
I have already installed it for you Richard

Hello Richard.

I am really sorry because I can't access your FTP. Seems like you forgot to put your hosting account details

Hello Richard.

Can you consult with your webhosting to increase your memory_limit to 256M, post_max_size to 64M and make your log directory to writable. http://screencast.com/t/pRmXe6Ys

Please advise

So they control there php.ini files locally so we have changed the post max size and memory limit there, the log directory is actually untouchable, so I am creating a new directory for the log files. Need to get this working asap, as the client is getting anxious.

Hey Richard,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as we were occupied with some major testing earlier today. I have been trying this but it still wouldn't work

I tried the manual way of installing but when I tried to upload I am hitting these errors, http://screencast.com/t/YCSZgrmjwy

I may have found the issue. There appears to be a file limit on the account. I have removed a million files from the cache, etc so that that file count is not exceeded anymore. Can you give it another try?

I may actually have it complete now..... but that leads me back to the original issue that got me started on this process. I am trying to add this image to the last blog post, and it is not uploading for me (them). Any idea on what the hangup is?

We cannot upload an image into a blog post, it just says uploading and doesn't complete. I attached the specific image we are trying to attach to the last post.

Hey Richard,

Is there any way for you to contact your hosting provider to turn off openbase_dir in PHP? It looks like the error is being thrown everywhere on the site and this could be one of the reasons why the uploads are failing.

Warning: is_file(): open_basedir restriction in effect.

Okay that should now be disabled.
I saw there was an update and mistakenly tried to install it. Why is there not a way to back out of an installation. SOOOOOOOO anoying, now i'm stuck in another install screen. Can you tell me where an install is started, is it added to the database, a config file, a folder created, etc? I need to be able to back out of this quick myself, since you are in a different timezone, I cannot wait for responses.

HAHHAHa - found it, to back out of the installer you can delete all the tmp files in your Joomla tmp directory.

Hey Richard,

Yep, this will be fixed in 5.0.18. If you click on the "Exit Installation" button, it will delete the easyblog.installation file in the temporary folder

I was still having issues with not being able to upload an image. Apparently you can use the php.ini in the root folder to override the global one, which I changed 12 hours ago, but have not got back to test it.

Hey Richard,

If you are still having issues with the images please do start a new thread here on our forums but I still think that the image upload issues are still caused by the php restrictions on the site

I found it, there was an extra php.ini file created that I didn't know about. All good now, thanks.
