Had previously installed EasyBlog 3.x and hadn't properly started using it. It was throwing up error codes so I uninstalled and have been trying to install 5.0.14 but install hangs at 20%. Hope you can help.
Hi Peter Shand,

I can't seem to access to your site as I'm hitting these error.
==============
530 Login authentication failed
Could not connect to server
==============
Can you provide us the ( Joomla BackEnd, FTP ) for us to assist you with the installation?

Hi Ethan,

I have re-checked the password details etc. given to you and ftp certainly works via Filezilla. Note though that the actual site root is at http://www.partnershipflooring.co.uk/home/ and correspondingly for admin. Hope this of use.

Hi Arlex,

I've created a new ftp account as requested. You'll find the details below. Can't understand why the other didn't work but not to worry.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Ethan,

Yes, I see that EasyBlog is there. Thanks for that. It does seem to have trashed my general site layout (throughout site) though. Please see attached screenshots. The slightly earlier, green one is as it should be. The later, red one is not at all as it should be.

Hello Peter,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I am not quite sure why your template is not displaying properly and it only happened at your frontpage only. I also notice that your frontpage does not displaying any easyblog component there.

I've tried to directly access easyblog components , http://www.partnershipflooring.co.uk/home/index.php/blog and it seems like the template is showing correctly. Perhaps you might want to consult with your template provider as this issue is not related with easyblog components. Kindly get back to us once they have respond to you. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Hi Ezrul,

Yes, I had wondered about that. I have a back-up of the site immediately before installation and have also, now, taken a back up with EasyBlog in place. I am going to restore the online site to its pre-EasyBlog state for now and work on the problem on a local server over the weekend. I'll certainly contact you if I find a resolution.

Meanwhile, it would be extremely useful to have a detail of what was causing the original installation problem if that were possible.

Thaks for your help,

Best,

Peter

Hi Peter,

I am sorry for the late reply.

Thank for the update. I have consulted my colleague, and he said that no issue occurs when he installing EasyBlog 5 on your site. I suspecting that maybe it just a glitch from your webhosting when you done it earlier. Nothing much to worry about. However, if this issue re-appear in the future, please let us know. We'll try our best to assist you on this issue later.

If you have any question, please do not hesitate to ask us here by creating a new ticket since this ticket is already resolved. Hopefully this can minimize the confusion between us. Have a nice day.
