Hi. I am upgrading a website from EasyBlog 3.8.1 to the latest 5.x and it fails on 45% (cleaning up).

Because I am trying to do the upgrade on a brand new staging server with an IP address, I cannot use the 'direct from server' installer, and have to upload the 19m file each time which takes ages. And then I try again and the uploaded component has been deleted and I have to start again.

It would be much nicer if instead of limiting my account to 1 domain, that I could also use your auto updater on 1 more dev site. This is really painful. (I cant use a subdomain because I am not running the DNS - I simply have an IP Address)

I have 256M, PHP7, MariaDB, joomla 3.6.5 - and I checked the acl table for more than 100,000 records and only have 600 or so, so its not this -> https://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/setup/common-installation-issues

What do I do ?

Cheers,
Pete
To be honest, I am not too sure why is this so problematic for your site because we have thousands of customer who downloaded the full package and was able to install it just fine on their non supported domains.

If it hangs at 45%, I am presuming that it isn't an issue with the full package but rather something that is not right with the database as it probably wasn't able to sync / update the site accordingly. What does the error shows?

Perhaps if you could provide us with the access to your development site, I will take a look at this.

Hello Pete,

Most development sites has large upload_max_filesize set. So you could download the full package from https://stackideas.com/dashboard and install it through Extensions Manager in Joomla.

Proceed with the installation in EasyBlog and choose Install from directory instead.

Hi Mark,

This is exactly how I have been doing it. I cannot use the 'download from your server' feature as explained.

I have to upload the 19meg file each time I try to install it, and every time it runs, the installer hangs at 45%.

I ran your suggestion re unpacking the software in the /tmp/ folder and same result.

I have complete control over the dev environment - its not a resources issue..

There is a bug in the software, the installer whizzes through the processes until the clean up and then sits there for ever.

OK - I think I found the error - I had some missing files in the admin installation.. it was interfering with EasyBlog install - it works now..

Thanks!
Pete
