Is it possible to hack to allow the site administrator to install an app as "default", i.e. Blog, but allow the end-user to configure the application in the application area? There is a rich capability to extend and customize ES with apps, which I get, but that brings complexity for users. I would like to make it so the users get the core features of our member site (i.e. Blog, Discuss, Calendar) but also specify if I will allow them to customize the app in the app area.

I thought I saw this might be supported in the future, is that right?

Meanwhile, is there an easy hack I could apply to achieve this now?
Hi,

You actually just need to set the app as default through backend -> EasySocial -> Applications, click on the app that you like, and set the default to yes.

I'm sorry, I was not clear. I find that once an app is set as default through the backend -> EasySocial -> Applications, the user loses two capabilities with regard to that app:

1) The user can no longer uninstall that app.
2) The user can no longer modify the settings for that app. I've attached a screenshot of the settings I'm referring to.

That is not what I would intend for default apps in my community. As the admin I do want their initial experience to include apps we feel make their community experience complete. However I do not want to dictate for them, for every app, that they never uninstall it or modify how that app works for them. I would like to make some apps default (automatically installed) but still enable the user to adjust the app settings, or uninstall the app, as the user sees fit.

Was the intent on the part of ES to make "default apps" uninstallable and inaccessible to modification by the end-user?
