Not upgrading, installing for first time.
Would be great if you could just tell me some frequent reasons why this error could possibly be happening so I can do it myself in my own time without providing login details.

May i know which installer you download from http://stackideas.com/dashboard site?
Try download this full package installer -> http://screencast.com/t/PpNAdNoaso
Then try upload/install from your backend >extension manager and see how it goes? If the issues still persists, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this? Please advise.
