I have tried to installing a completely fresh install of Joomla and EasySocial but I hit a road block with the EasySocial installation.

I get a failed result for "Initializing Database Stored Functions".

I read another post on here saying just get hosting provider to run "mysql_upgrade -u root -p". The problem is, I can't do that... it's a shared server... similar to what most normal people use!

So what are my options? Get a refund?
Hello Andrew,

The user account that you provided doesn't seem to be allowed to install "extensions" on the site. Can you please provide us with the super admin access on the site?

Hi Andrew,

Also, can you check if your db user that used in your Joomla has the create function and execute function privilege granted?
Please advise.

This is all getting too hard. I have all my sites on the same GRID server at MediaTemple... but client sites like this keep running into major problems.

I think I will just signup with a new hosting service and by-pass this problem... sigh. You can close the ticket.
