Hi.
I thought I'd seen this mentioned in the forums before, but I can't find the post...
How can I increase the number of items shown on the public feed before people log in to the site (the bit that says log in to read more)?
Cheers
Dave
Hello Dave,

You can configure the number of stream items to display from the back end settings of EasySocial under Settings > Stream

Yeah that's what I thought Mark, but regardless of whatever number I set on the backend, before users login, they only ever see 5 items in the stream. Just for clarity, this is the dashboard view viewable to guests.

Hello Dave,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Thanks, as ever, for all your help

It's not a glitch, but I agree that this is an issue. Pagination is disabled for guests which in my opinion is unfortunate. Supposedly this was to encourage people to join which is a nice thought, but some sites want to give everyone a good user experience. The ability to post and communicate with people is in my opinion enough to encourage people to join.

To prove this it says "Please login to view more feed items" as seen here.

Hi Dave,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I've added a fix to your site and now the number of public stream in your dashboard page will be controlled by EasySocial backend setting under Stream-> pagination -> Number of items to load

Below is the file I've modified:

JOOMLA/components/com_easysocial/views/dashboard/view.html.php at line 358

The fix will be added into next release of EasySocial as well

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi Josh,

Thanks for your feedback and your suggestion but currently EasySocial do not support posting ( submit comment, likes and etc ) by a guest at the moment As for the guest to view more public stream items with pagination, we will see if we can put this feature into future release of EasySocial or not.

Thanks again and have a nice day

I wouldn't want guests to post comments and such. However I do want my guests to see things. Thanks for the consideration on this.
