Hi,

I run a community/news portal platform that consist of
- Joomla frontend with 20k+ Articles
- vbulletin Forum with 70k Threads, 759k posts and 22k members
- vbulletin Blog with about 2k blog posts
- Jomsocial
- CB for Authors profile

These platforms are integrated by a third-party single-sign-on. A discussbot ensures that articles from Joomla autostart a thread on vbulletin and forum posts show up beneath each article.

The challenge I have is that these multi platforms consume a huge amount of server resources and the 3rd party SSO is not seamless.

It appears your suite of products can be a good alternative to these different platforms i.e EasySocial as replacement for Jomsocial, vb blog to EasyBlogs, but I have a question about Easy Discuss. The questions are
1. Does EasyDiscuss integrate with Joomla in a way described above - i.e. Joomla articles creating a forum topic and forum discussions showing as comments?
2. Can EasyDiscuss handle big boards i.e. 1 million + posts?
Hey Philip,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is actually a public day off for us here. Thanks for getting back to us on this We actually have a plugin that allows creation of new discussion when you create a new article in Joomla. Is that what you are looking for?

As for handling 1 million posts, I don't think that will be an issue as we have close to 800k posts right now on our site and we are running on EasyDiscuss for our forums =)

Mark,

How do I access the plugins for Easydiscuss? Would the article plugin you mention also show discussion beneath the article? It's important that Easydiscuss integrate tightly with Joomla content - That's the only reason I'm buying it. Also, do we have modules that will show Easydiscuss content on other parts of the site - latest post, etc

I've done a test migration and sure enough the posts and categories are imported, but quite a few things are left out

- Avatars
- Forum permissions
- Usergroups and permissions
- Thread prefixes/Tags
- Archiving
- Post thanks/Likes
- Dedicated thread for reported posts...

etc

Hello Philip,

Here is the screenshot of the Joomla Article that has an Easydiscuss reply section: http://screencast.com/t/FwJjIJ5uYu . You can download all Easydiscuss plugins from here: http://stackideas.com/downloads/plugins .

- Yes, we do have Recent Discussion Module which can be downloaded from here: http://stackideas.com/downloads/modules

- We are sorry but with the current version, Easydiscuss can only migrate Posts and Categories.

Hello Philip,

We haven't had an exact that for the next version. By the way, for this migration with vBulletin, we will discuss about this and see how it goes.
