No rush - Happy Christmas!!

I have rebuilt a site which is now on Joomla 3.8 and i want to get the blogs from the old 2.5 site.
Easyblog version on the old site is 5.0.44 and i cant update it anymore.
obviously the new site has the latest version.
If i try and replace the easyblog db tables they are obviously incompatible, what is the best way to get them across, there are too many to do it manually?

many thanks
Hey Richard,

Merry Christmas! I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is actually a public day off for us here. Hm, migrating from a Joomla 2.5 site requires manual migration. To do so, these are the general steps that one should take assuming that most of the data from your Joomla 2.5 site and Joomla 3.x site is identical:

Before you proceed, you need to ensure that EasyBlog is not installed on your Joomla 3.x site. If it is already installed, you need to uninstall it and remove all the tables that has the prefix of #__easyblog.

1. Export the database tables that has the prefix of #__easyblog from your 2.x site.

2. Run the exported queries on your Joomla 3.x site via phpmyadmin.

3. Install the latest version of EasyBlog on your Joomla 3.x site and it will perform the necessary data synchronization accordingly.

Haha Mark apologising for a reply in less than 24hrs and on Christmas Day!

Anyway thanks for that, it seemed to make sense and was a simple to do few steps but unfortunately it didnt work, possible i got something wrong but i was very careful. The install step at the end wouldnt work using either launcher or full files, the latter ended up with a crashed site i had to restore.

Not a problem though i think i will manually restore a few of the last blogs and hopefully my customer will be ok with this.

thanks anyway and Happy New Year
