Hi,

I currently have two websites.

Site 1 - EasyBLog installed, 200+ posts
Sitte 2 - K2 installed, 500+ posts

How can I export all my posts from (K2) Site 2 to (EasyBlog) Site 1.

Am I right in thinking that I should do something like the following;

  • install EasyBlog on Site 2
  • use the migration tool to migrate them into EasyBlog
  • export my database
  • import them into Site 1 - how?

Once I have exported the database what do I do, how can I import it without overwriting all my existing content? I don't want to overwrite any of my existing posts, categories, tags etc.

The 500+ posts that I want to import will all be going into the same (News) category.

Thanks.
Hi Johny,

I suggest you to follow these steps:
1. Export K2 database from Site2 and Import it into K2 from Site1
2. Install K2 in Site1
3. Do the migration from K2 to EasyBlog from Site1

The 500+ posts that I want to import will all be going into the same (News) category.

-> If you want the K2 item (with category name 'News') merged into the category in the EasyBlog (News). The category name for both K2 and EasyBlog have to be same
refer these: http://screencast.com/t/nQHpv3BXQd http://screencast.com/t/QDorT4IFw and http://screencast.com/t/d7z18vCvv

We're strongly suggest to you to do the migrations in test/staging site before do it in the live site and always bear in mind to backups your site/database for precaution
