Hi!

I want to rebuild my J3 website, and make a new one with J4. I will not just upgrade the existing site. I will create a complete new J4 installation, and rebuild the pages.

But therefore, I want to keep my discussions of EasyDiscuss and blog articles of EasyBlog.

So I was wondering - what is the best way to do that?

Do I have to import all users from the J3 database to the new J4 database first?

Or will that happen automatically, when I import the dicussions and blog articles?

What about images, which are in EasyDiscuss and EasyBlog? Are the exported from old and imported in new installation automatically?

Thanks
Hi Alex,

Yes you have to import the users first. You can find extensions that does this as an alternative to manual user import via database.

Once you have imported the users over(their id numbers must be the same as the old site), you can refer to this EasyBlog doc for a guideline.

The last step would be to copy over the images and media files.

Remember to try this on a staging site first.
