Hi,

I am just in the process of optimizing my website for launch and am wondering if there is a way to optimize the cover images loaded in the Latest Articles module?

The cover images for the actual blog are quite a bit larger (680x453) and in the Latest Articles they're being scaled to 289x192. What I would like to do is rather than serve scaled images, have a second smaller copy of the image(s) for use in the Latest Article module, but display the larger cover in the Article so that it is not scaling on the fly and impacting page load. Is there a way to do this?
Hey Tim,

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can better have a look?

By the way, I've tried to access using your previous post site details, but it seems like you already blocked these user access.

Hi,

Yes, apologies...I have re-enabled the prior access. In case it wasn't clear from my original post, I've been using tools such as GTMetrix and WebPageTest to get a view on how the site is performing and really just want to ensure that the images are being delivered in the most efficient way.

Also, is there a way of specifying image dimensions for avatars and header images?

Regards,
Tim

hey Tim,

I've checked in your site, the only way you have to optimize the image is before you upload the image to blog content.

1. Drop the image quality from backend > Easyblog > settings > media

2. Use the 3rd party program to optimize that image first only upload to Easyblog

Because we do not have optimize image feature available in Easyblog.
