Since upgrading to Joomla 3.7.3/3.7.4 I am unable to see images displayed in my posts. The image is showing in my post editor and preview, but is appears blank on the live site.

If I substitute the image with one from uploaded prior to the 3.7.3 upgrade it displays correctly.

Any ideas, other than me restoring an earlier version of Joomla?
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

My apologies, I had been testing using images that had been uploaded earlier and hadn't saved back to the new image so this is what you could see. I have refreshed using the new image which gives a blank view on my website as you can see in the attached image.

Best regards,
Audrey

it seems like JCH optimize plugin convert those image link to base code, you can check my attached screenshot below.

If temporary disabled this plugin, it will render correctly on the page.

But that was strange is because i realised our other customer also using this JCH optimize plugin also do not have encounter this issue, perhaps you can consult with your JCH optimize developer and see whether mis-configuration something from backend.

Many thanks!

I hadn't thought to check my JCH Optimize settings. I have temporarily disabled as you suggest and will try and find out from their support what the issue is that I am experiencing.

Thanks too for such fast response to my query - much appreciated.

Hi,

I too have this issue (and have JCH optimize). Did you find out the cause? What settings did you have to apply to JCH Optimize to get the images to display.

Mine is only happening with new posts I make.

Hi,

I haven't had chance to find out the cause and still have JCH Optimize disabled. I did find that I couldn't display images elsewhere on my site if they were named with .JPG extension - changing to .jpg solved this problem. It is on my to-do list to check this with JCH Optimize enabled.

Hey guys,

I think it would be best if you can consult with JCH developer regarding this, because they know better their software and they should give a better solution regarding this situation.

For anyone else who has this issue, where images within the blog don't render and you're using JCH Optimize, the solution is:

1) In the JCH plugin find the 'Lazy Load Images' setting
2) Exclude the specific images or the image folder

This will resolve the problem. The explanation provided by JCH is below for reference:

This is caused by the Lazy-load image feature in the JCH Optimize plugin. The 'base64' images are just a 1px x 1px transparent GIF image the plugin embeds in the HTML as a placeholder to prevent the images from loading before they are scrolled into view and then loaded by the Lazy-load image script. The Lazy-load image feature uses javascript to implement so if the images are being manipulated by javascript otherwise by another function, as seems to be the case with EasyBlogs, then this tends to conflict with the Lazy-load function and prevents it from loading the images properly. You can resolve this by either disabling the Lazy-load feature or excluding these images from the Lazy-load function.
