Hi,

My images in all posts are broken.
When edit a post and check the image url - it exists! But it does not show.

I worked on this new website on localhost at first, and the images was displayed back then.
Then I uploaded it to a test site, and the images disappeared from frontend - broken images urls. I thought it was because of the test site, and it will be fine when it was uploaded to the main domain. But it still shows broken images links, and I can't see where it's wrong. I haven't changed anything in the blog settings.

Best regards,
Camilla
Hello Camilla,

In EasyBlog 5.0, images are stored as absolute urls. It looks like most of these posts were created from a localhost, http://take.ms/C5aKn . This would mean that you would need to edit your post and reinsert the image again so that it uses the correct url rather than your development site's url.

In EasyBlog 5.1, it will now use relative urls instead to solve problems like this and you could configure it so that it uses relative or absolute urls.

In edit layout in backend for a post all the addresses are correct. Please see the attached image.
When I try to edit posts I can't get it to change none of the images.
I have tried to delete them in Media folder and upload them and it still doesn't work!

Do I have to create a new post for every post I have, to get it to work? I don't want the old images to take any space on the website, but it seems to not be possible to delete them. When I enter a post and publish the changes, it just adds the images again - still with the result of broken image urls...
What can I do?

Hello Camilla,

Can I know which particular post are you trying to edit?

Okay. In frontend editor layout and if I uncheck and check the "Image pop up" checkbox, it seems to get the correct URL...
I will try it with the other posts now.

Great, thanks for updating Camilla. If the site is still in development mode, may I suggest that you upgrade to 5.1? It's still in beta though.

We have improvised heaps on the url structure as it will now store contents as relative urls rather than absolute urls.

I just published this new version of my website today, so it is online for our customers.
Will it have an effect for them, if I update to beta version?
And worst case, what could go wrong?
Now I have many broken images, so maybe it's worth trying??

Hello Camilla,

Beta could contain bugs but I wouldn't reckon you to update to 5.1 beta on a live site yet. By the way, did you also uploaded those images under /images/ folder to your live site?

What you need to do now is to re-edit the posts and change the image to pickup from the image on the site. Because the source of images are now pointing to localhost:8888 which I believe is your local development site, http://take.ms/NIHX4

Thanks Camilla and I do apologize for the inconveniences caused If you are building a new site in the near future, do use 5.1 but I believe 5.1 will be out pretty soon as there aren't much bugs reported so far.
