I have checked your site and it seems like the issue is coming from your template. When I try change your template to another template, the image is displayed properly. Here my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/eF4llG6MuNLO . Can you contact your hosting provider regarding this issue?
Regarding the second issue, "Can the main blog pic not be a thumbnail for stories in email?" I'm not sure if I understand you well. Can you explain more what do you trying to achieve here http://screencast.com/t/IEcy4Xkz ?

Hosting company does not do such tasks. To explain further on Emails I was simply saying I need the blog pic to be included in the emails. So what ever story was sent in email the blog pic would be there. As in the screen shot you sent me the pic of the big shark would be in the email. Also can you show me where to change the colors in the email. For example the view blog post button is blue and I would like it red.

Sorry about the confusion earlier. What my colleague meant is Template Developer. As for the email blog pic, by default, EB will get the image from the content. But if you want get from Blog Image, please replace the attached file in:

../components/com_easyblog/themes/default/email.blog.new.html.php
../administrator/components/com_easyblog/tables/blog.php

So, your blog post must have a blog image: http://screencast.com/t/f2HCZLJOh
