Hi SI Team

I have been reading the article here:

https://stackideas.com/blog/simple-steps-to-identify-and-configure-translations-for-joomla

And I am wondering how does this actually work when implemented succesfully?

(In my case I am looking at the idea of setting this up for English and German)

In my limited experienced of multilingual sites, there are flags with the languages and you swtich manually!

Does this work like this or does it work some how else?

I hope this is clear what I am asking?

thanks

Paul
I don't really understand what you are asking but if you are asking if this is how multilingual is done, then yes this would be the one and only way to achieve multi lingual translations on the site

Once I follow the set up in the article correctly....

How do I switch (as a visitor to the site) the language from German to English or from English to German?

You need to publish the language switcher module on Joomla, https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Setup_a_Multilingual_Site/Language_Switcher
